Mayberry returns as S.W. Isaac-Henry Invitation­al sponsor

MAYBERRY INVESTMENT­S has renewed its commitment as a sponsor for the upcoming S.W. Isaac-Henry Track & Field Invitation­al Meet.

Scheduled to unfold at the iconic National Stadium on February 17, the event is set to captivate audiences with its showcase of athletic prowess and the spirit of competitio­n.

The S.W. Isaac-Henry Track & Field Invitation­al Meet, sanctioned by t he Jamaica Athletics Administra­tive Associatio­n (JAAA) and Inter-Secondary School Sports Associatio­n (ISSA), has become a key fixture on Jamaica’s sports calendar, serving as a crucial qualifier for the prestigiou­s ISSA/ GraceKenne­dy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championsh­ips.

This year, the event will include 60-metre races for both men and women.

According to Leroy Cooke, chairman of the meet, the addition of the 60 metres is strategic.

“This year, we are introducin­g the 60-metre race for seniors, recognisin­g the evolving landscape of athletics. We aim to provide a platform for athletes to compete in this fast-paced event and showcase their speed and agility,” he said.

Desiree Wheeler, Maybettery Investment­s Limited’s senior marketing officer, said t he organisati­on was happy to renew its sponsorshi­p, especially given the importance of the meet to developmen­t.

“We are delighted to once again stand as the title sponsor for the S.W. Isaac-Henry Track & Field Invitation­al Meet, a testament to our enduring commitment to the developmen­t of Jamaican athletics. This event not only spotlights raw talent, but also provides a platform for young athletes to reach new heights and make their mark in the world of track and field,” said Wheeler.

Anticipati­on is building for the showpiece, which will feature a total of 67 events, including 32 individual track events, 31 field events, three relays, and one mixed relay.

The event is also estimated to attract 2,000 athletes, predominan­tly from high schools, along with participan­ts from colleges and track clubs.
