Springtime brings high-profile assignments for SAINT International trio
AS THE cities of New York, London, Milan and Paris ready for the designer collection previews for the fall/winter 2024 season, the women of SAINT International are solidifying their place in the global fashion space. The gorgeous trio of Kai Newman, Tami Williams and Tomiwa starred in just-released Spring 2024 collections for Diotima, Express and Alpha Tauri, respectively.
Newman is the face of Diotima’s first advertising campaign, photographed just last month at GoldenEye Resort in St Mary by photographer Nick Sethi and styled by Marika-Ella Ames. Founded in 2021 by Jamaica-born, Brooklyn, New York resident Rachel Scott, the luxury brand has been worn by actresses Keke Palmer and Lashana Lynch, and entrepreneur and influencer Ayesha Curry. “For me, it was a great honour being handpicked by Rachel to be the face for her first brand campaign,” Newman told The Gleaner. “Shooting with Nick and Marika for the day was a great experience, and it was extra special having my daughter Zehirah on-set.”
Newman was on hand too – as Rachel’s special guest – walking the red carpet, draped in a mesh Diotima knitwear dress, at last November’s Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards ceremony where Scott won the much-coveted Emerging Designer of the Year trophy.
On the other side of the world, SAINT’s Nigerian star Tomiwa’s visage takes prominent presence for the Austrian fashion brand Alpha Tauri’s latest ad campaign photographed in Ibiza, Spain, last October. Appearing alongside Tomiwa in the campaign are English athletes, Red Bull ultrarunner Tom Evans, kitesurfer Tom Bridge and cyclist Evie Richards, Great Britain’s first elite Mountain BIke XCO world champion. Alpha Tauri’s new collection features such co-ed clothing options as 3-D knitwear, stretch jersey dresses, waterproof shirts, tapered pleated pants, and swim shorts. “Meeting the British sports stars was a good time,” shared Tomiwa of her fashion assignment, “Having them transform from the sporting life they’re used to and working on [the] modelling turf I am more familiar with, made it a fresh experience for them, plus it was amazing to shoot in Ibiza.”
And, Williams, she’s starring again for long-time client Express. The Jamaican supermodel, who has shot multiple campaigns and e-commerce looks for the American fashion retailer, anticipates a continued partnership of mutual benefits. “This last Express campaign was done in California, which is where we typically shoot for the brand, and as always, the team was absolutely fabulous. It’s been three years and counting, and I look forward to more great projects together.”
