Registration opens for Caribbean Shipping Executives’ Conference
INDUSTRY LEADERS and decision-makers are gearing up for Caribbean Shipping Association’s (CSA) 22nd Caribbean Shipping Executives’ Conference set to take place on May 20 and 21 at the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon in Miami, Florida.
The annual event serves as a critical platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and discussions on important issues affecting the Caribbean maritime community. Participants can expect insightful deliberations on industry trends, regulatory changes, technological advancements, and environmental considerations.
The conference agenda is packed with engaging sessions and discussions, led by renowned speakers.The first day kicks off with a presentation from PortMiami, followed by an exploration of the maritime industry’s future with a session on ‘Navigating the Future: Six Key Trends Shaping 2024’.The afternoon session explores workplace well-being, geopolitics, decarbonisation, and automation, touching on crucial aspects affecting the industry’s future.
The day concludes with a focus on carbon emissions reduction, strategies to stimulate Caribbean commerce, and a social event, providing ample opportunities for networking and relationship-building.
Day two begins with a discussion on the impact of nearshoring/friendshoring on the Caribbean, followed by insights into cruise economics, post-pandemic resurgence, and sustainability. The day continues with discussions on breaking barriers for women in maritime careers, public-private partnerships in maritime security, risk management through engineering solutions, and the impact of supply chain disruptions on global trade via the Panama Canal.
The conference wraps up with a port tour and cocktail reception at PortMiami, offering a first-hand look at its operational structure and providing additional networking opportunities.
