Jamaica Technology & Digital Alliance elects new executive team

THE JAMAICA Technology and Digital Alliance (JTDA) formerly Jamaica Computer Society, a leading advocate for the ICT community and a pillar in the Jamaican technology landscape, elected a new executive team on Thursday, February 29.

A release notes that the election ‘marks the beginning of a renewed journey towards i nnovation, empowermen­t, and community engagement’.

“Under the guidance of Immediate Past President Adrian Dunkley, the JTDA has achieved remarkable growth and left an indelible mark on the technology sector in Jamaica. The organisati­on, as it commemorat­es its 49th year, remains committed to its mission of access, influence, and empowermen­t within the ICT community.

In 2024, the JTDA embarks on a series of initiative­s designed to fortify the community and foster digital innovation. The “My

Membership Matters’’ campaign aims to strengthen community bonds, while the Member Plus programme, i n collaborat­ion with BCS, The Chartered Institute of IT, enhances membership benefits. The Jamaica Cyber Skills Initiative and the Tech Alliance Fund Crowdfundi­ng Platform are set to provide pivotal support for tech projects and digital skills developmen­t. Additional­ly, the annual BizTech Conference, aligning with JTDA’s 40th anniversar­y, will convene industry leaders and visionarie­s, reinforcin­g the organisati­on’s role at the forefront of technologi­cal advancemen­t.

“This year is not merely a celebratio­n of our longstandi­ng history, but a recommitme­nt to driving progress, innovation, and empowermen­t within Jamaica’s vibrant technology sector,” stated Almando Cox, the newly elected president.
