As a Jamaican, who was born in Manchester and migrated to the United States at age nine, she is also excited about having Gayle as ambassador for the tournament.

Grant, who will be running for mayor of Lauderhill in November 2024, met Gayle through his publicist Sean ‘Contractor ’ Edwards, who arranged for the ‘Universe Boss’ to attend a gala in honour of former West Indian batsman Lawrence Rowe in Fort Lauderdale.
