STEP-BY-STEP APPLICATION PROCESS
The National Housing Trust (NHT) aims to improve the standard of housing available to Jamaicans and to provide financial assistance to needy persons who contribute to the NHT and who wish to build, buy, or repair their homes. It also generates funding for the housing-construction sector.
The NHT is funded by contributions from employers and the self-employed as well as from employees and voluntary contributors. Currently, employers are required to pay three per cent of their taxable gross earnings, while employees and voluntary contributors pay two per cent of their taxable gross earnings.
