The Star (Jamaica)

A social event

People travel from all over the globe for this event every year, not only for the entertainment, but also for the whole Christmas Extravaganza experience.

” I don’t know if it’s because the event is held on Christmas night, but the show has a very special meaning to lots of people. You could say it has become a part of the Yuletide tradition in Jamaica,” said GT Promotions CEO, George ‘ GT’ Taylor.

A big part of the annual Christmas- night event is the fashion. Entertainers billed for the event usually turn out in some of the most incredible designs.

However, patrons are not to be outdone as they attend the show dressed in the latest and trendiest fashions as well.

“Everyone knows that Boom Christmas Reggae Extravaganza is an event of class, and all the entertainers make sure that they dress their best for the occasion. The patrons are also well dressed. Believe me, no one wants to make the worst- dressed list at Boom Christmas Reggae Extravaganza. Fashion is definitely a big part of the event,” said Taylor.

Patrons attending the show this year will get a chance to walk the red carpet at the AfterChristmas Dinner Party, that will take place before the main show in the evening.

While walking the red carpet, their pictures will be taken and posted on social- media networks including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The bestdressed couple will win a cash prize.

GOOD ENTERTAINMENT

That segment of the show will also feature dance and deejay competitions, the winners getting the opportunity to perform on the main.

“This show is all about good entertainment for the patrons, and every year we try our best to improve the show for the benefit of the patrons. This year we want to give them something new with the package and we thought it would be a good idea to have this ‘ AfterChristmas Dinner Party’, for those who want to come out early and walk the red carpet and show off their fashions.

They can do so and have fun looking at themselves on the big screens in the venue. It’s all about creating a wonderful experience for the patrons.”

Boom Christmas Reggae Extravaganza is being staged under the theme, ‘ Still Rules.’

This year, as Boom Christmas reggae extravaganza celebrates it’s 14th anniversary, the show will feature some of the best reggae and dancehall artistes, among them, Bounty Killer, Ninja Man, Sizzla, Beenie Man, Cham, Capleton, IOctane, Khago, Assassin, Ginjah, Romaine Virgo, Jose Wales, Terror Fabulous, Admiral Tibet and Louie Culture.
