Health ministry puts ‘dog meat’ scrapped
The Ministry of Health has scrapped plans to investigate a picture that has been circulating on the Internet which suggests that Chinese restaurants in Jamaica have been selling dog meat to the public.
“The thing about it is that we don’t have any lead and it is very difficult to launch an investigation without knowing where to start,” Lundie Richards, acting chief medical officer at the Ministry of Health said.
Richards told THE STAR this week that the ministry would launch an investigation whether an image of a skinned, unseasoned animal, resembling a dog in an metal bowl, was being prepared for consumption in Jamaica.
