Millions of adoring fans have seen nine-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt dominate sprinting, but may not understand or appreciate the hard work and sacrifice he puts in. The sprint megastar was on hand for last night’s local premiere of the behind-the-scenes look of his life, that is I am Bolt at the National Indoor Sports Centre, in Kingston. The iconic Jamaican’s life hit the big screen in London last week and touched down in Jamaica last night, where more than 800 guests, including

family, friends, dignitaries, and other local officials were in attendance.

The man of the moment received a standing ovation prior to the documentary’s opening.

“I am feeling good tonight. The turnout is great, and it’s always great to come to Jamaica and get the support as always, so big-up,” Bolt said.

He underlined that his hope was for fans and supporters to go on the journey of his career with him.

“A lot of people say it comes easy, so I want to show them the stress I actually go through and the work I have to put in ... and just to see who I

am as a person,” Bolt said.

He credited the documentary’s directors, Benjamin and Gabe Turner, for “actually making it easy”.

They said no athlete, whether in England or elsewhere, can compare to Bolt.

“It wasn’t difficult working with Usain. It was amazing. He is so charismatic. Whenever we were rolling the camera with him, it was amazing and we were getting stuff. It was difficult to decide what to leave out and what to put in. It was great fun,” Gabe told STAR SPORTS.
