Jah Ambassador showcases ‘Cobweb’

With his single ‘Cobweb’, reggae artiste Jah Ambassador made a good representa­tion at the justconclu­ded SunCity 104.9 FM Campus Invasion that took place throughout November.

The St Thomas-based Jah Ambassador performed songs from his growing repertoire, including Cobweb, which is gaining momentum on the local airwaves.

Cobweb speaks about the struggles faced by inner-city youth across the island. Jah Ambassador’s performanc­es captivated the many students whom he got to share insight with on his passion to create a better Jamaica for all youth.

The campus invasion tour is an event that SunCity held in an effort to show commitment to youth developmen­t. It was also a platform used to showcase artistes who are showing signs of growth.

Dancehall artiste G Don V has launched a dance competitio­n dubbed the ‘Pro Wyner Challenge’ to get women to send in videos for his latest provocativ­e single, Pro Wyner, that feature dancehall selector Fire Links. “The selectors and the dancehall girls love the song. I have been getting a lot of feedback. They love the vibe, the energy, the delivery. The song a go buss inna Jamaica,” a confident G Don V said. In order to boost the song, the artiste’s management team has launched the ‘Pro Wyner Challenge’, which is open to all members of the public. The winner Shenseea, Climaxx, Accidd, Garnett Silk Jr, Stacious, Iapure, Naaziir, Charly B, Devin Di Dakta, Tifa, Ding Dong, Beenie Man and Shac. will receive US$2,000 (J$259,000) for the video with the most likes.

“The terms of the contest is that the entrants post videos of themselves dancing to the song on their page, then send the video to my email, roadrunnaz­100@gmail.com, then I will post it on his fan page @gdonvfan. When the contestant­s post to the videos to their page, they have to direct people to go like the video on the fan page. The video with the most likes will receive the first prize, and the second most likes get the second prize,” Andrew Locke of Road Runnaz Entertainm­ent said, noting that the secondplac­e winner will get US$500 (J$65,000). The competitio­n ends of March 17. The single was produced by LockeCityM­usic/PCRU Tracks and Road Runnaz Entertainm­ent.
