- MARC STAMP STAR Writer

Montego Bay United and the University of the West Indies (UWI) FC will meet in a top clash in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) tomorrow at Wespow Park in St James, starting at 3 p.m.

Reigning champions MBU are in pole position in the nation’s elite league on 31 points after 15 games, while UWI FC are on 29 points, the same as Tivoli Gardens FC. Tivoli enjoy a better goal difference.

MBU are coming off a 2-1 loss to Humble Lion in the last fixture and will look to get back to winning ways in order to maintain the lead in the 12team league.

The Montego Bay team will bank on the competition’s joint leading scorer Dino Williams, who is tied on seven goals alongside Shamar Nicholson of Boys’ Town. Williams is expected to get support from captain Dwayne Ambusley, Allan Ottey and company.

GOOD RUN

UWI are also coming off a loss as they went down 1-0 to newcomers Jamalco last Sunday.

The Marcel Gayle-coached UWI have been enjoying a good run in only their second season in the top league. They will rely on captain and the team’s top scorer Rochane Smith, who is on six goals, as well as Dawyne Smith (no relation), Davion Garrison and Andre Bernal to ambush MBU on the road.

In another game of high interest, Tivoli Gardens will look for their sixth consecutive win when they face Harbour View. Tivoli beat Harbour View 3-0 when the teams met on September 4.
