Merry Christmas when it come
Abrethren just threatened to hail me up by slapping me with a bag full of onion, garlic, scallion, and thyme. When I asked why, him laugh and tell me that it’s Christmas time so that’s his way of ‘seasoned sharing greetings’. Man can silly so? Of course, I had to join him and buss a big hearty, belly laugh. Yeah, folks! It’s that time again! We’re rapidly approaching the end of another year. Market getting busy and everything getting dear. Friends and family are now happily gathering from far and near. Suddenly, more laughter and happy chatter seem to be floating everywhere. Every other car that pass me now have nuff loud music a blare. And everybody seems to be filled with the spirit of holiday fun and cheer. But trouble and trauma still deh bout, and we’ve already had more than our fair share. We really don’t need any more violence and disaster round here.

Here’s a next thing. Try do more giving than receiving this year, nuh. Don’t pressure people for present like it’s your birthday, man. You nuh name Jesus!
I don’t personally believe that Jesus Christ was born on December 25, but this season is about celebrating the birth of the Lord, right? So let’s give Him the gifts.

As Pastor Lynval Lewis reminded me in our monthly workplace devotional session on Monday, Psalm 116 asks and answers a key question in verses 12 and 13: “What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.”
