Chellavich grateful for positive 2016
Tailor-turned-recording artiste Chellavich is singing high praises following a constructive 2016 in which numerous strides were stitched in his promising music career.
To top things off, he recently captured the international IFE (Island Fuse Entertainment) up-and-coming artiste crown after receiving the most votes in a field that consisted of other hopefuls.
Born Christopher Anthony Lee, Chellavich, who also has a knack for tailoring, aspired to be a hard-core lyricist and spent his spare time honing his craft as he drew inspiration from the legendary Bounty Killer.
Known for singles such as Say She Want and Bounce Like A Ball on the Sleepover rhythm, Chellavich made successful appearances at local stage shows, charity events, and parties during the year.
He told THE STAR, however, that things began to blossom in 2015 after he caught the attention of CEOs at the True Legends Music Group, Pablo Murray and Rohan Calvin, who signed him.
“Working with True Legends Music Group, I amassed an impressive collection of hot singles for which they were seeking the means to promote,” he said, noting that his single Bounce Like A Ball, was featured overseas on the IFE Top 10 Charts and peaked at number five.
Chellavich was also recently featured on TVJ’s entertainment show Intense and was elated that the public was finally able to put a face to the name.
“Being on Intense was very good for me. It was my first time being on TV, and it was a very nice experience being there with the professionals. The IFE Charts programme took me from 0 to 90 in terms of making me get TV and radio interviews and airplay overseas. Being part of the IFE Chart programme was the best move I made for 2016. Because of that, 2017 is looking bright,” he told THE STAR.
