Jahmiel set for Magnum Live
Singjay Jahmiel is set to ‘tek charge’ at Magnum Live on Saturday, fresh from being awarded the Reggae Breakthrough Artiste of 2016 at the Sting Awards.
“I am looking forward to Magnum Live. It is another platform, to showcase my talent, and to be sharing the stage with some of the best in the business is a great feeling,” he said.
“The fact that it is a live band show, with Ruff Kutt, the energy is going to be doubled or even tripled, so fans can look forward to a great performance from the ‘great man’, with lots of positive messages and high energy,” he added.
The youthful reggae-dancehall singjay went mainstream in 2015 as his hit single, Gain the World, garnered attention and created a massive buzz on the airwaves.
Jahmiel used the momentum from that and started 2016 on fire with another hit track, Great Man, before reeling off a barrage of hits such as Years to Come, Where Were You, Different Level and Clear the Way.
The 24-year-old’s string of hits led to his recognition at the Sting Awards. He also received the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association Breakthrough Artiste of the year Award for 2016.
“It is a great feeling being awarded for your work. I have been putting in the hard work, and now I can see and feel the love and appreciation that people have for my talent and music, and that just shows that the work is paying off. At the same time, it is also motivation to keep working hard and continue putting out good music,” said Jahmiel.
