The Jamaica Amateur Gymnastics Association (JAGA) Junior Development team is hoping to bring home glory in their debut at the United Winterfest meet in Reston Town, Virginia, in the United States of America.

The gymnastic meet is set to start today and end two days later. It is for females seven to 16 years old.

President of JAGA Nicole Grant Brown, who has been in the USA since last Sunday, says that despite two key gymnasts being unable to participate, the other girls are expected to give of their best.

“I am there now ensuring that the team is comfortable in order for them to do well. They have never competed in that meet before, but I am expecting a good show,” Grant-Brown told STAR Sports yesterday.

“The team had been training hard in preparation for the meet. Our level eight team was crippled due to Rhianne Erving being injured and not making the meet. Also, Adana Johnson will not be able to attend the meet,” the president disclosed.

“We know the team will do their best under the circumstances of not having a proper training facility, however, the experience they will gain is priceless and will help in their development,” she concluded.

The Junior Development team reads: Brianne Woon, Kimoya Banks, Kailey Ho, Telissa Robinson, Emelia Sharpe, Kayana Brown, Mikayla Brown, India Shirley, Michala Virgo, Tiffany Cameron, Jamilia Duffus, Mekayla Thomas, Akailia Stephenson, Giselle Thomas, Kaelia Kai Yen and Danyella Holmes Richards.
