Keznamdi to the rescue

Artiste to perform at benefit concert for California fire victims

-

With the devastating California fires that blazed across the Sonoma County last month resulting in major loss of life and property, reggae artiste Keznamdi is lending a helping hand by donating the net proceeds from his concert to relief efforts.

Keznamdi, who is currently on tour in California, will donate the net proceeds from his Skyline Levels Vol 1 Live Concert at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma, California, tonight. The event, which is being promoted by California’s heavyweight promoters California Roots, will feature noted American DJs Daddy Rolo of 106 KMEL and DJ Shabazz after which Keznamdi will perform a special two-hour set which will include guest performances.

Keznamdi, who has been in California for more than a month before the start of his tour, was staying with friends in Santa Rosa, and was forced to evacuate the area as the fire engulfed that community.

Experiencing this on a firsthand basis, he felt compelled to help the people of that community.

HAD TO ASSIST

“Being there and seeing so much destruction, broken souls, people who support our music and people who I know personally, I decided that I have to do something to assist. I don’t have a lot of money as a young artiste, but what I have is my talent, so if I can use my talent and rally people to come together in support of our fellow brothers and sisters; then this little gesture can go a far way in supporting those who were affected,” Keznamdi said.

The Skyline Levels Vol 1 Showcase has been making several stops in Californian cities like Los Angeles, San Diego and Oakland. After tonight’s benefit concert, the tour will make stops in Santa Cruz and Seattle before heading to the East Coast cities of New York, Boston, Rhode Island, and Miami.
