12 Jamaican teams for 2017 Florida Netball Classic

Business House Netball Senior ‘A’ champions, Scotiabank ‘A’ , runners-up NHT ‘A’, Ministry Of Education ‘A’ and Appliance Traders Limited (ATL) are among the 12 teams from Jamaica that will travel to this weekend’s 2017 Florida Netball Classic Internatio­nal tournament.

The tournament, which is set for Saturday and Sunday, will be held at the Coral Springs Gymnasium in Fort Lauderdale. Also making the trip are Senior ‘B’ champions JN Bank.

The two-day event has attracted more than 50 teams from Canada, Antigua, The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Cayman Islands, Australia, New Zealand and England.

NATIONAL PLAYERS

NHT ‘A’ are hot favourites to top the event as their team will be strengthen­ed with the inclusion of national players Vangelee Williams and Thristina Harwood, who joined the company late and were not eligible to play in the Business House competitio­n. Also in the NHT team are JodiAnn Ffrench, Crystal Grant, Keri Ann Brown, Abigail Linton, Taniel Roberts, Sasha-lee Wallen, and Trishana Hanson.

Ministry Of Education ‘A’ will also have a strong team. Those expected to make the trip are former national players Naudia Hanson, Tracy Ann Robinson, Paula Thompson, Nicole Aiken-Pinnock, National netball coach, Sasha Gaye Henry, Petal Smith and Shedeiky Hamilton-Barnes. Scotiabank ‘A’ team will have in their line-up former Sunshine Girls Sateva TaylorBarn­es, Kameika Sherwood, Patrica McCalla, Shadian Hemmings and Nicole Farquharso­n-Henry, Shann Lambert, Althea Byfield, Trecia Stewart, Tennisha Bernard and captain Naudia Brown.
