Sassiperiller banks on new single

-

Cayman-based dancehall artiste Sassiperiller is optimistic that her record ‘Money A Di Pree’ will bring her much success in the music industry.

According to the deejay, the music industry has been seeing a resurgence of female artistes and she hopes to cement her place in dancehall while the wave is in full effect.

“It’s pleasing to see how dancehall music is big outside of Jamaica. Some people are focused on negativity but this song is for people who are focused on their goals and achievements. It is also about economic independence for women,” she said.

The record was produced by Hard Life Production.

“Cayman’s dancehall scene is growing and I try to project a strong presence over here. My ideas are fresh and I try to always

have an underlying message in my content. Female artistes need more support from the media and selectors in general, and I hope that will improve as time progresses,” she said.

The artiste is also working closely with veteran MC/manager MC Nuffy and is currently the ambassador for Cayman-based clothing outlet One and Only Boutique.

She was recently featured on mixtapes for popular DJs CD Banging, Zinc Fence and DJ Kenny.

“Music can be a tourism product and I believe with my impact over here I can help to boost the image of Jamaica as a Jamaican artiste residing in a foreign country. Sometimes we focus on sand and sea too much and ignore the fact that foreigners really love Jamaican music,” she said.

The record can be purchased on iTunes.
