Lion seek to humble Arnett

- MARC STAMP STAR Writer

Humble Lion will seek to continue their revival under new coach Merron Gordon when they clash against unbeaten Arnett Gardens in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) tonight at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. Match time is 8:30.

The Humble Lion team started the season shakily under coach Lenworth Hyde Sr, and following his resignation one week ago, Gordon took over and won against Montego Bay United in his first game in charge of the Clarendon-based outfit.

Now, Humble Lion will look to stop the unbeaten run of the reigning champions at their home turf inside the ‘Jungle’.

“It is a big one. The only thing is that I did not have the time to prepare the team properly for this encounter. I am optimistic about our chance going into the game,” Gordon told STAR Sports yesterday.

“They (Arnett) are winning so much, but there is a defeat coming for them. I hope it is tomorrow,” he said.

Humble Lion will look to veteran Wolry Wolfe, Andrew Vanzie, Hughan Gray, Hugh Howell and Jermaine Christian to ambush the Junglists.

On the other hand, Arnett’s early season form is tremendous and they will look to maintain the lead in the league.

The Jerome ‘Jerry’ Waitecoached Arnett will rely on inform goalscorer Fabian Reid, captain Oneil ‘Bigga’ Thompson, goalkeeper Damion Hyatt, Vishinul Harris, Marvin Morgan Jr and Keneil Hyde.
