Price gives up on players
Boys’ Town coach Andrew Price has said he is not getting enough from his players and will have to depend on January’s transfer window to rescue the club from consecutive Premier League relegation battles.
Boys’ Town is at the foot of the table with just one win and seven points after 14 matches. Following their ninth defeat of the season, against University of the West Indies (UWI), on Sunday at Barbican field, the former national defender said his players are simply not cutting it.
Price said the club has already identified a number players it intends to bring in through the January transfer window to help turn around the season after netting 13 goals and conceding 34.
“We want to get some injection and some change and freshen up the team. There are some players that I am looking at, but I won’t say right now. We just want people out there who are going to play with more energy and more intensity. We are looking for players all over the field.
NOT GETTING ENOUGH
“Right now we are getting the best that we can out of the players, which is not good enough. So we are going to have to start looking outside to see if we can get some assistance to build up our intensity. We are just not getting enough from the players. We are halfway through the season and we have only won a game,” he pointed out.
Price believes the players are trying their best and had given their all against third-place UWI but still came out on the losing end.
“We saw some fight from the team. We were in the game up until the first goal. After that we broke down. We got a penalty late in the game and there was some fight, so the team showed some fight, but we are just going to have to continue to work,” he said.
