Bernard urges All-Star players to grab opportunity
Coach of Kingston College’s (KC) football team, Ludlow Bernard, lauded the five players selected from the North Street-based institution for the one-day FLOW Super Cup AllStar training day, which takes place next month.
KC’s goalkeeper Chadeem Rodriques, central defenders Javain Brown and Anthoniel Mullings, as well as midfielder Fabian Grant and striker Rashawn Mackison were among 15 players selected on ‘Team A’ by the organisers of the high-profile knockout tournament.
The training day was organised by telecommunication and media company FLOW in partnership with English Premier League giants Manchester United, who they signed a partnership deal with earlier this year. The camp will be held on January 28, 2018, at a venue yet to be named. Two All-Star teams will participate in the training session which will include skill development activities plus a match. The other team will be announced on December 22. “Congrats to the players selected from KC and the other schools. They worked hard on preseason and during the respective competitions,” Bernard told STAR Sports during the announcement yesterday at the Spanish Court Hotel in New Kingston.
“This is an opportunity for the players to continue their development. It may not be a break for any player, but anything is possible. The coaches may like the skills of some players,” added Bernard, who guided KC to the FLOW Super Cup 2017 title.
The other players selected on the All-Star Team A were: Jeadine White (St Andrew Technical), David Smith (St Andrew Technical), Maliek Howell (Jamaica College), Clifton Woodbine (St Elizabeth Technical), Kaheem Parris (Dinthill Technical), Tyreek Magee (Jamaica College), Chris-Andrew Dixon (St Elizabeth Technical), Lamar Walker (Clarendon College), Colin Anderson (Calabar) and Orane Ferguson (Calabar).
