New Kidz sings about ‘Status’

-

There are many friendships that can be described as one-sided, where one person is seen as an asset and used in that regard.

This is a situation that hits home for many, and is expressed by New Kidz through the lyrics of his new single Status.

The track is produced by Locke City Music Group producer, Andrew Locke.

“You would be surprised to know the number of persons suffering from draining relationships and friendships, one-sided for years now, and persons afraid to confront the truth and speak up about this form of abuse,” New Kidz explained.

Status has been described by BBC 1xtra Host Seanie B as a “sure shot.”

With New Kidz recently embarking on international engagements with worldrenowned artiste Maxi Priest, the traction for Status both locally and overseas is expected to keep going.

With a friendship that spans over 12 years and the fact that they’ve been working together since 2009, it was a no-brainer for New Kidz and Locke to combine their efforts for a track like this.

“New Kidz and I have been good friends for many years and we have worked together on various projects in the past. I always try to produce music that reflects the reality that we face each day. This way the common person understands, feels, and can appreciate the message,” explained Locke.

There’s much more to come in 2018 from both New Kidz and Locke City. The music video for Status is currently in the planning stage and will be shot by Ncode Studios early in the new year.
