winners, Mikaliah Allen and Brianne Irons.

“The success story is all about investing in positivity. The aim is to bring awareness as it relates to the impact of social media, and two of the students came out on top. Things like these need to be highlighted in the media. There is still hope for Montego Bay and the rest of Jamaica,” Foota Hype told THE STAR. Allen and Irons won the competition by uploading a video of themselves on Instagram and sharing their ‘success story’.

“We got a whole lot of entries but they got the most votes. Their video met the requirements also, as it injected positivity and empowers, and these are qualities that we want the younger generation to possess,” Foota Hype said.

“In the midst of all the madness happening in Jamaica, especially Montego Bay, I feel really proud to produce a song like this at this time. I am also very proud of the students that won as it shows that there is still light at the end of the tunnel,” he added.

During the presentation, Nesbeth implored the students and staff to follow their dreams and become their own success story.

“I know what it’s like not to have. Coming from very humble place I had to face some almost insurmountable obstacles to get to where I am in life. But the real reason I was able to make it this far is because I had a dream and I never once lost sight of it despite the challenges. I want to personally implore you all to have a dream and work earnestly towards it,” he said.
