Renaissance plots big comeback

-

Delano Thomas, lead selector and part owner of Renaissance, told THE STAR that he was grateful for the support he received from loyal fans, pointing out that Renaissance’s reputation made it difficult for people not to support events they are affiliated with.

“It’s been a while, and I know, based on what we have been hearing, that people missed us on the party scene, so we decided to make a comeback as far as hosting events is concerned,” he said.

“We were not off the scene, but events take a lot out of anybody, so we had to take some time to regroup and revamp. This is the beginning, and we’re gonna keep going and going.”

Among those who turned out at the event were Brian ‘Ribbie’ Chung, Tarrus Riley, Jordan McClure of Chimney Records, and Lisa Hyper.

The night saw a host of experienced selectors including Bishop Escobar, Coppershot, Chromatic, DJ Tyler, and Third Dimension taking turns at the consoles, thrilling patrons and delivering the kind of vibe persons have grown accustomed to from Renaissance.

Delano encouraged patrons to keep a lookout for Renaissance as they make their comeback.

“We have made up our minds to come back and give the people what they’ve been asking for. We have a lot in store and we do not plan to disappoint. Reggae month is coming up, and so is Carnival. People have so much to look forward to from us.”
