Wanted man charged with murder
Detectives assigned to the Savanna-la-Mar Criminal Investigation Branch in Westmoreland carried out intensive investigations, which have led to the arrest and charge of one of the parish’s most wanted men.
He is Davion Brown, otherwise called ‘Balti’, of a Savanna-la-Mar address.
Brown was arrested by the police on Friday, December 15, following an operation in Grange Hill in the parish. One Taurus 9mm pistol with five 9mm rounds of ammunition was also found in his possession.
FORMALLY CHARGED
In August of this year, Brown was named as wanted for the murder of 22-year-old Ocielle Hall on Great George’s Street in Westmoreland.
In September, he engaged lawmen in a confrontation during their attempt to apprehend him.
On Thursday, December 21, Brown was interviewed in the presence of his lawyer and was formally charged with murder, shooting with intent, and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Detectives continue to follow strong leads in other cases where they consider Brown to have been a major player and are appealing to the public to share information on crimes that Brown has allegedly committed.
He is scheduled to appear before the Westmoreland Parish Court on Tuesday, January 9.
