J’can arrested for New Year’s Eve murder

The Broward County police department has arrested a Jamaican after he allegedly shot and killed his former classmate at a house party in Lauderhill, Florida, on New Year’s Eve.

Informatio­n reaching THE STAR is that 24-year-old Shevon ‘Natty’ Salmon now awaits trial following the murder of 26-yearold Paul Anthony ‘Mafia’ Nelson.

When contacted by our news team, the sheriff department was unable to comment, and THE STAR was directed to their official website which confirmed the arrest.

Salmon is charged with premeditat­ed murder.

WAS DISARMED

According to the sheriff department’s website, www.sheriff.org, Salmon was arrested on January 2.

The fatal incident reportedly occurred during a New Year’s Eve party inside a Florida apartment.

THE STAR understand­s that a handgun was used to shoot Nelson who was seated on a couch.

Our news team gathered that Salmon was disarmed by party patrons and he left the venue and took a cab home.

He was arrested at his home in Miramar, also in Florida.

THE STAR also learnt that both Salmon and Nelson allegedly had a ‘smoke’ before the tragic incident.

No motive has since been establishe­d for the killing.
