We shall overcome! Price says new signings will save Boys’ Town

- MARC STAMP STAR Writer

Though rooted in last place in the Premier League, Boys’ Town coach Andrew Price is confident a quartet of new signings will lift the team out of the relegation zone.

With 13 games remaining in the regular season, the famed Red Brigade are on 12 points from 20 matches with a lot of ground to make up to leave the drop zone, which they share with promoted Sandals South Coast, who are on 16.

Harbour View and Humble Lion are five points clear of the red zone, sitting on 21 points apiece.

However, Price believes the addition of André Dawson and returnee Shawn McKoy, both transferred from Waterhouse, as well as Bebeto McDonald from Arnett Gardens, will lift them from their precarious position.

McDonald came off the bench in the second half on Sunday at Barbican Complex and found the equaliser in added time for Boys’ Town’s hardfought 1-1 draw against Humble Lion.

SEEN IMPROVEMENT

“All the signings that we brought in have showed their mettle. They have been playing hard and the team is going to gel. We are going to put in some work, especially in the final round,” Price told STAR Sports.

“I really think that we should have gotten all three points. We dominated territorially. We got some chances that we should have put away,” he said.

“I have seen improvement in each game. What we are doing now is finishing games strongly. The team is really running into a certain amount of fitness. We played a plucky Humble Lion team that really hung on to life in the last 15 minutes of the game.

“There was a controversy with the no-calling of a goal. From my angle, it was a goal, but we have to give the referee the benefit of the doubt. We battled although we did not get the goal and fought back to earn a point.”
