Reno target wounded Arnett

- MARC STAMP STAR Writer

Coach of Reno, Michael Graham, is expecting his team to rub salt into Arnett Gardens’ wound when the teams meet in the Red Stripe Premier League tonight at the Anthony Spaulding Complex, starting at 8:30.

Reno have not won in their last nine games, and although they are going into the Jungle to face a troubled Arnett Gardens team, Graham is expecting his boys to leave with a positive result.

“We know that playing at Arnett’s home venue is never easy. We expect a tough game against Arnett. However, they are coming off a big loss, so they are wounded,” Graham told STAR Sports yesterday.

“We have not won in the last nine games, so it is important to go there for a win. It is a new look team as we lost some key players in the transfer window,” he added.

Reno will look to Linval Wilson, Renorio Downswell, Afiba Chambers and Andrew Isaacs to get back on track.

Arnett are coming off a big loss and the vibe in the camp was low with the players due to issues relating to non-payment of salary.

However, playing at home, Arnett will look to stop the bad patch in which they have picked up just four points in their last five games.

The Jerome Waite-coached team will rely on captain Oneil ‘Bigga’ Thompson, striker Fabian Reid, midfielder Vishinul Harris, Marvin Morgan, and others to get back on form.

In a game yesterday, the youthful Cavalier continued their good form when they brushed aside struggling Boys’ Town 4-1 at Stadium East Complex, while Harbour View edged leaders Portmore United 2-1 in another interesting result. Montego Bay United’s game against Waterhouse was not played due to a waterlogged field.
