Arnett appeal for $2 million

Arnett Gardens FC club administrator, Gregory Hall, said that his club face a shortfall of $2 million in the total budget of $5.6 million for per diem, and the extra day that they will spend in Trinidad for the Caribbean Football Union Club Championship group stage next week.

Hall made an appeal for assistance during the Red Stripe Premier League press conference at the Jamaica Football Federation offices yesterday.

Despite the shortfall, Hall said that the team would travel as scheduled on Sunday for the championship from January 3 to February 4.

“We had a total budget of $5.6 million, of which we have come up with $3.6 million, hence a shortfall of $2 million. We need the additional money to cover per diem and extra day that we have to spend in terms of travelling early,” Hall shared.

CONFIDENT

“We have been talking to a couple of people and we’re confident that we will get the money. The club is still making that outcry for assistance,” he added.

“The organisers will take care of accommodation, transportation and food,” Hall also said.

Arnett will play in Group A against Atletico Pantoja of Dominican Republic on January 31; then W Connection of Trinidad and Tobago on February 2; and Real Hope of Haiti on February 4.

Meanwhile, Portmore United will play in Group B alongside Atlantico of Dominican Republic, Central of Trinidad and Tobago, and Racing of Haiti.

The winners and runners-up in each group will advance to the next stage.

The Arnett squad is: Damian Hyatt, Shamarley Clayton, Oneil Thompson, Jabeur Johnson, Al Nesbeth, Jamar Martin, Ranike Anderson, Jason Moore, Renae Lloyd, Vishinul Harris, Marvin Morgan, Rickardo Oldham, Steve Clarke, Tamar Edwards, Kenniel Hyde, Fabian Reid, Kemal Malcolm, Lennox Russell, Leon Strickland and Javoni Simms. The coach is Jerome Waite.
