Feluke’s recovery almost complete

Reggae artiste Feluke has come out to let the public know that he is doing much better after undergoing surgery in October.

Feluke has been battling colon cancer. Various artistes staged a benefit concert for him last September to assist funding the surgery.

He told THE STAR that he is currently undergoing recovery treatment and wants all those who helped him get this far in his medical journey to know that he is grateful.

“I am really very happy for all the help that I have received since my condition became public. I could not have got this far if it weren’t for the assistance of each and everyone who donated, and I want to say thank you,” he said.

Feluke, who is still in Mexico, also told THE STAR that since the surgery, he has been much more active and is in good spirits.

“I feel great. The surgery really did a lot for me, I’m able to move around more these days,” he said. “The doctors are happy with the progress that I have made, and I’m just overall grateful that I’m better than I was a couple a months ago.”

But he revealed that he still has one more surgery to do before he is scheduled to return home in April. While the surgery is perhaps one of the easiest, it is still proving difficult as the funds he has been living on for the past five months in Mexico have completely dried up.

The entertainer said the surgery he needs now will reconnect his colon to his rectum, allowing him to remove the bag through which he passes stool.

VERY DIFFICULT

That surgery will, however, cost money he doesn’t have right now. Feluke is therefore asking the public for help once more, pointing out that time isn’t necessarily on his side this time around as the visa he was given to stay in Mexico will expire in April.

“It is very difficult to keep asking for help, especially when people have been so helpful already, but I really have no other option,” he said. “I am really very thankful for all the help I have got so far and I’m hoping anyone who can help will come forward again. I just want this all to be over and for me to be better at the end of it. I know everyone who has been following me on this journey and helping me wants to see that, too.”
