Beenie Man to release two new music videos

-

Coming on the heels of a splendid performance at Costa Rica’s ‘La Barra Imperial’ festival, dancehall icon Beenie Man is now gearing up for the release of two new projects.

Shot by director Steven Bernard, the projects take the form of a pair of videos for the singles, Lifestyle and the New Wave medley. The latter features Jah Vinci and dancehall newcomers Relevant, Kacique, Dover, Kantana, 8-Bar, and Polish. The visuals are slated for release in the weeks ahead.

EMERGING TALENT

Alluding the New Wave medley, the dancehall doctor said that aside from amplifying his own presence, he also wants to use the platform to highlight a number of emerging talent, something he thinks is necessary if we intend to have a sustainable local music industry.

“When I decided to do the medley video, people ask why I had so many young artistes on the project. But it is important to highlight the youths if we want the Jamaican music industry to grow. None of us will be here forever, so it is important to usher in new talent and pass on the baton,” Beenie Man said.

Meanwhile, come March 26, the deejay is expected to headline the Love & Harmony Cruise along with Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Sanchez and Chakka Demus & Pliers before jetting off to the twin-island republic of Trinidad & Tobago for an engagement on April 14.

Locally, the award-winning deejay is currently promoting his latest video, 10 Metric Ton, featuring Stylo-G, amid working on several high-profile projects slated for release in the weeks ahead.
