Former J’can star athlete in hot water over sex video
Aformer Kingston College star athlete, who now attends university in the United States, is in hot water after allegedly videotaping his roommate having sex with a woman and threatening to post footage online.
Information reaching THE STAR is that Xavier Boland, 24, former Kingston College and Carifta pole vaulter, who is now a senior standout on Lindenwood University’s track and field team, is facing three counts of invasion of privacy.
According to several media reports, court documents revealed last Friday that the recordings were found on Boland’s phone after a woman alleged that he showed her a video and photo of her having sex with his roommate.
THE STAR gathered that the woman claimed that Boland assaulted her and threatened to post the recordings on social media.
As a result of the controversy surrounding the athlete, calls have come from students who attend the university for him to be dropped from the team.
Our news team understands that the video appeared to have been recorded through blinds from outside Boland’s home in St Charles sometime between January 1 and February 18.
Boland’s roommate and the woman he was filmed having sex with were both unaware that they were being recorded at the time, according to court documents.
THE STAR understands that after investigators confiscated Boland’s phone, another video of two unidentified people having sex were allegedly found.
Our news team gathered that Boland is in the US on a student’s visa and faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
Checks by THE STAR confirmed that Boland is at the St Charles County Jail with a bond set at US$1,500 (J$191,000).
