Couple faces jail time for sex on a beach

-

Acouple who were filmed having sex on a beach in Thailand could face a prison sentence.

Police have launched a hunt for the tourists who couldn’t resist but get intimate on Dongtan Beach after a night of partying, the Metro newspaper reported.

Although the identities of the couple are unknown, police believe they are of Western origin. In the video, the woman can be seen lying on her back while the man stands over her.

Onlookers say that the couple had sex for around three minutes before people started shouting at them, and they ran away down the beach.

Police Colonel Apichai Krobpetch, superintendent at Pattaya Police Station, said: “This happened in a public place where many tourists go to relax.

“The scene is in front of the Pattaya Marine Rescue Center. I do not know where the tourists come from, but officers are pursuing them in order to protect the reputation of the area.

“Police will investigate this and prosecute the people involved. This is very negative for the area.

“We have spoken to many witnesses as we are pursuing the offenders. It is a crime to have sex in public like this, and they will be punished.”

If the couple are caught, they could face a fine of 5,000 baht (£115) and could even be sent to prison.
