Duckie told STAR Sports that his players are very focused and they are looking forward to giving a good account of themselves against the Stars of the East. “Irrespective of where you are playing, a positive result is key,” said Duckie. “The game is two halves, so we are going to play the first half, which is 90 minutes, on Monday night, and it is important not to lose that game,” he said.
“If we win the game, it is important for us and it will be better, but it is important for us not to lose the game. We are going there to get something from the game,” Duckie said.
Both teams have met three times during the regular season, with a win to either side while the third match ended in a draw.
The veteran coach added that the fans expect a fiercely contested match because both teams are evenly matched in all departments, and they are determined to put on a good showing in both legs.
“Two teams will be on the pitch and I am sure that they are a dangerous side and we are dangerous side also. They know what we can do too, and it should be a very competitive game,” Duckie said.
“We have played each other more than once in the regular season, so the only thing different now is the psychological for both teams,” he said.
The second leg will be played at the Waterhouse Mini Stadium on Thursday.
