We can repeat Tivoli feat – ‘Messi’ Marsh

ended goalless and we went on their home turf and dominated, coming out victorious. I am confident we can go to Portmore’s home ground and repeat such an effort and progress to the final.”

ATTRACTING CLUBS

Although Cavalier have pulled off such an effort in the previous round, Marsh said the confidence within his team is coming from the coaching staff, who have shown them that they can make a name for themselves on such a stage, and get the attention needed to progress as footballers, whether with the national team or in attracting clubs from overseas.

“It comes down to the coaching staff and what they have done and invested in us. They have shown us that we are fighting to make careers and names for ourselves, and these are the moments that we must seize to make our mark with the national coaches and anyone else who might be scouting us. Such advice keeps us honest and makes us want to prove ourselves as some of the best in the country,” explained the former Calabar man.

The midfielder has not been at his noticeable best over the past few games. However, he made light of such an observation by putting it down to a change in tactics and roles for him with how his team has been playing recently, as a very solid unit.

“Well it’s just down to a different tactical set up by the coaches and the instructions they have given me to go out and execute. I have a more stay at home role now, to look after my team. So I am just listening to the instructions the coach has given to me, and I’m just trying to adapt to the role, while executing those instructions on the pitch,” he said.
