Waterhouse’s Thomas feeling no jitters
Though he will be playing in his first major final, Ricardo Thomas, the wing back for Waterhouse, is not expecting jitters to affect him when he graces the field to take on Portmore United in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) final, he told STAR Sports.
Thomas said that the energy that his team has generated since Donovan Duckie took over has boosted his confidence so much that it renders him incapable of getting nervous.
“I don’t think I am going to be nervous, because the group of guys I have been around gives me so much confidence through the team vibes that we have been building since Donovan Duckie took over,” Thomas said.
Waterhouse advanced to the RSPL final by way of a 3-1 on aggregate win over last year’s champion Arnett Gardens.
The Drewsland-based team has been building momentum since Duckie took over from Glendon ‘Admiral’ Bailey, and according Thomas, his coach did a fantastic job to change the team’s culture first.
“The coach really did a good job to change the vibes in the team and that is why we started to play well,” the former Jose Marti Technical High School player said.
Thomas, who was called up by the national team to take on Antigua and Barbuda in the upcoming international friendly on April 29, said winning the RSPL will be another stepping stone to him achieving his objective, which is to play professionally overseas.
