Entertainer’s friend killed during video shoot

-

What was supposed to be a memorable occasion for up-and-coming entertainer Righteous turned out to be a complete nightmare last Saturday after his friend was killed, while he was wrapping up a scene from his video shoot.

The entertainer said that he and his team were in the process of shooting a music video for the single, Summer Time Now, along a section of Olympic Way in St Andrew, when a barrage of shots were heard.

“All now me sleep, enuh man. We just finish a scene, and we a prepare to go somewhere else in the area to shoot another, and me just hear bare shot. Me never hear so much shot inna my life. After me gather up everyone, me realise say Odeano was unaccounted for. He was insisting on leaving the place, so he took a taxi. So when the shooting started ,the driver had already driven off,” he said.

“The car hit a next taxi and both cars turn over, and he was thrown out the car. Is a whole heap a shot him get. All now me can’t believe. Mi nuh eat. Me honestly don’t know what happen. Me really feel bad because is me why he was there. Mi don’t know how to relax because people have a lot of things to say, but I am not involved in any wrongdoings,” he added.

EXPLOSIONS HEARD

According to the police’s Constabulary Communications Unit (CCU), at approximately 3:15 p.m. explosions were heard, and the police were summoned. Upon arrival, Odeano Johnson, who is of a Delacree Lane address in Kingston, and Alex Walters of Eltham Acres, St Catherine, were seen suffering from what appeared to be gunshots wounds. They were later both pronounced dead. Investigations continue. Righteous, who hails from Cockburn Pen, St Andrew, said that the music video was done to highlight positivity and unity within the inner city, but Saturday’s event was quite the opposite. S.M-L.
