Jersey fashion for Strictly 2K

-

As the anticipation builds for Strictly 2K – Best of the 2000s, many patrons are already piecing together their fashion ideas for the May 25 event to be held at Mas Camp.

As much as the begining of the 2000s was an exciting era in music, the fashions trends that erupted during this time were just as sensational.

But one of the most memorable fashion trends of the early 2000s was the wearing of jerseys, and the organisers, ZJ Chrome and Jamrock Entertainment Management (JEM), have sought to bring this theme to life for this staging.

JEM director of communication IB Konteh believes that fans paying homage to their favourite sports icons by wearing their replica jerseys is similar to music fans pledging allegiance to a particular entertainer.

“It is an interesting correlation,” Konteh said. “Music and fashion go hand in hand. Many entertainers have set fashion trends, and in the early 2000s, a lot of entertainers began rocking jerseys. Whether it was a basketball, football, or baseball jersey, many entertainers were often seen wearing them everywhere, so the fans of sports and music alike were bound to buy into it as well.”

Chrome shared that Strictly 2K patrons are always outdoing themselves in the fashion area and hoped that they would continue that trend at this staging.

“The [early] 2000 era wasn’t just about the music. Fashion is always a big part of our culture,” Chrome said. “We are about to relive those good times and beautiful memories, and we are going to do so wearing our favourite jerseys.”
