The Bog Walk community is mourning the loss of one of their own after he was killed in a home invasion last Saturday night. According to police reports, at about 11:45 p.m., Leonard Jaddoo was at home with his family when armed men broke into his home and robbed everyone of an undetermined amount of cash.

One of the gunmen then shot Jaddoo in the head before they escaped.

One of Jaddoo’s nieces told THE STAR that her uncle didn’t deserve to die the way he did and she is still in shock about his sudden passing.

“I am overseas at the moment and although I got the call, I still can’t believe. I feel like I have lost part of my heart,” she said.

Jaddoo, who was affectionately called Seedie Man, operated Stone Age Block Factory, which he started by raising two pigs.

“When my grandfather retired from his citrus business, he passed it down to my uncle. He worked in citrus for a while and started a small business at his home by just raising two pigs,” she said.

His niece stated that both the block factory and pig farms provided many jobs for the youth in the community.

“He was very jovial and was a very fun person. He was always helping people in the community with food and just about anything else he could,” she said.

“He was more than an uncle to me. Even when I was building my house, he ensured I got all the material I needed. I feel like I am in a horrible dream. I just can’t come to terms with his death as my uncle couldn’t hurt anyone. He was a very peaceful soul,” she added.
