Dancehall and reggae artiste Raine Seville is looking to re-establish herself among the top female acts in the entertainment industry with her new single, ‘Complicated’.

The singer said that the single has been receiving some good feedback and has been enjoying a fair amount of rotation on the local airwaves. Having taken a break from music to sort out the details of a contract she had been in since 2016, the entertainer said that she is again ready to make her musical mark, and she will be going full speed ahead.

“I wasn’t really under the radar. I was signed to a management team, and I was going through a whole transitional phase with that. I was trying to get things finalised where that was concerned before I started to do anything else,” she told THE STAR. “Now that I’m out of that situation, Complicated is basically the song that will reintroduce my music and will definitely be a resurgence of sorts for me. I also have a few other projects that I’m working on, but I won’t get into any details right now. I’m just going to let people see what I’m coming with when it drops.”

Complicated, according to Seville, has received the support it has so far because of the topic of the song. The entertainer said that the song is relatable and resonates with people on a real level.

“The song is about some basic relationship issues. You’re with your partner and you’re very much in love, but you’re also attracted to someone else on the outside. You might flirt with that person and whatever, but you don’t go to the very extreme where you actually get intimate with the person,” she said. “Based on the comments I get from like social media, it’s a song people can relate to. It’s a situation a lot of people go through because at the end of the day, we’re all human beings and so we have feelings. Sometimes even though you’re with someone, you have an attraction for someone else at some point in time, and the song is basically about that.” Seville said that she is not signed to any management team currently and is going solo. However, she said that the work will continue as she is focused on hitting her musical targets this year, no matter what. She’s already tasted success this year with her first release for 2018, Think Positive. The song, which was inspired by Black History Month, did relatively well, and Seville is hoping to build on the song’s success with this new track. Complicated was recorded by New Yorkbased producers from Double Track Records.
