Sean Kingston’s Made In Jamaica tour a success
Sean Kingston is dubbing his recently concluded Made in Jamaica tour a success and says he is ready to take on more countries across the world as he continues to strengthen his fan base.
In an interview with The WEEKEND STAR, the Jamaica-born international star said he just wrapped up a tour of Europe and will be headed to Mexico next to promote new material.
Kingston, who was in Canada before heading to Europe, said he has been working on connecting more with his fans and finds that there’s no better way to do that than through touring.
“Fans were crazy, they showed a lot of love. There were a lot of girls crying and stuff,” he said laughing. “But seriously though, as an artiste, I always appreciate meeting my fans on the road. They show me so much love by supporting my music and when I get to meet them on tour, I always try to show them that same love back by giving my all with each performance.”
The artiste said the tour lasted just under a month with stops in cities like Berlin, Liverpool, and Birmingham.
Sean Kingston said the tour showcased exactly what his Made In Jamaica EP is all about.
“It was definitely about feel good music, making people happy, making people dance, because that’s what the project is about,” he said. “I love Jamaica, Jamaica is my home and I wanted people to experience just why I love Jamaica so much, so all throughout the tour it was just good vibes.”
The EP is slated to be released soon. Kingston named Jah Cure, Stefflon Don and Akon as a few of the artistes who will be featured.
REGULAR TRIPS HOME
Speaking of Jamaica, the entertainer, who recently bought a house on the island, said he will be making regular trips home, pointing out the importance of keeping connected to his roots and the Jamaican people.
“There’s an energy about Jamaica and the Jamaican people that I absolutely love. I love this place more than anywhere else in the world I’ve ever been to and I definitely want to keep that connection,” he said.
Kingston was recently featured on chart-topping album Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica, which is in its 16th week on Billboard’s Best Reggae Album chart.
He was featured on the songs Chance, a collab with Vybz Kartel, and Paradise with fellow JamaicanAmerican rapper Safaree.
