Shawn D Gedion still promoting positivity
Recording artiste and producer Shawn Robinson, known to the entertainment industry as Shawn D Gedion, doesn’t necessarily consider himself a gospel artiste anymore, but the entertainer isn’t letting ‘labels’ stop him from spreading positivity through music.
Currently promoting the single Pass and Gone, the artiste tackles the issue of loss. It is a socially conscious ode to persons whose lives have been cut short.
Speaking with The WEEKEND STAR, Shawn D Gedion shared his own experiences with losing loved ones and said that he hoped that the song could offer hope to anyone and everyone who has gone through the painful experience.
“I have experienced many losses throughout my life, and I know others have also been through this, or will, unfortunately, go through the same thing,” he said. “I wanted to capture my thoughts and feelings during these trying times in hopes that it can also provide encouragement to people going through the same experience.”
SIX TRACKS
The track was produced by Flo1musiq and is the first single released from his upcoming EP called New Day.
The project is set to be released in August this year and will feature six tracks that will discuss a number of serious issues.
The artiste said that he decided to focus on issues that would resonate with people as he wanted the EP to have purpose and meaning.
Producer Bobby Fortella of Flo1musiq described Shawn as an inspiration and said he had no doubts that the song and the EP would accomplish exactly what the artiste hopes they would.
“It is always a pleasure working with singers and songwriters. Shawn D Gedion on his EP New Day is simply amazing, and to witness his creativity and passion for music is inspiring to me as a producer,” said Fortella.
The artiste said that New Day signifies a new level in his musical career and believed the listeners would be pleased with the evolution.
“It is a ‘new day’ in my musical life, and listeners will be pleased with the evolved sound of Shawn D Gedion,” he said.
The video for ‘Pass and Gone’ is currently in production and will be released this summer. The lyric video for the single is available on YouTube.
