We nuh see nothing

Cressa Lane residents distance themselves from dead men

-

Despite the Friday afternoon killing of four men by the police, and wounding of another, residents of Cressa Lane in Portmore were going about their usual business when the media visited the area.

They seemed calm and said this was because they had no idea who the men were.

“We nuh see nothing,” one resident said. “We nuh know what a gwaan inna we community, but we no hear nobody bawl out (justice), so it look like a strange man.”

A team from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) processed the scene.

“I have seen no protest at all, in fact as you can see, the place is very quiet, very calm. When we try to speak to people, persons just call to you, say hi and are pleasant, but nobody is saying anything but we are investigating assiduously,” said Floyd McNabb, INDECOM’s director of complaints.
