Room for improvement
Despite winning the men’s 110m hurdles at the JN Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium on Saturday, Hansle Parchment said he was not pleased with his race execution.
Parchment, who is the 2012 Olympic bronze medallist and 2015 World Championship silver medallist, won the event in 13.31 seconds.
His compatriot and Commonwealth Games champion, Ronald Levy, was second in 13.32 seconds, and third went to American Devon Allen in 13.38 seconds.
“I think it was a good race, but I still need to work some more on the execution, especially the technique,” said Parchment.
“I don’t think the start wasn’t too bad, I am improving there as well, but I still have some work to do,” he said.
“I felt if I had executed a little better then I could have been further in front, but I am still giving thanks because this is all part of hurdling, sometimes it is a close finish and it is all about who is leading best to the line,” Parchment said.
He added that he is now looking to improve on his technique and also lowering his season’s best time 13.22 at the National Trails, which will be held at the National Stadium later this month.
“It is a good win for the mental because I have a win under my belt and so I can think straight and try to build on this,” Parchment said.
“I have a few races to come, Trials is next and so I am looking forward to that and looking forward to drop the time,” he said
