RJRGLEANER looking for eight from eight

- MARC STAMP STAR Writer

The RJRGLEANER Communications Group will be on the hunt to close the Wray and Nephew White Overproof Business House Domino Division Two preliminary round unbeaten when they host Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) today at The Gleaner (Media) Company Sports Club at 6:30 p.m.

Coming off seven consecutive victories from as many games, the newsmen are on a high. They have already qualified for the quarter-final knockout round with 71 points.

When the teams met in the first round, RJRGLEANER whipped BOJ 160-91.

Manager of the RJRGLEANER team Barrington Deer says that it is important to enter the next round with a winning momentum.

“Our approach will remain the same. Just like what we did in winning the previous seven games in the league, we want to keep the unbeaten run intact,” Deer told STAR Sports yesterday ahead of the game.

“We have a strong squad and will look to give other players game time, but we have no intent on weakening the team. We won’t take BOJ lightly. We still won’t start a weakened team and play catch-up, but eventually, other players will get to play,” he added.

“We expect to win every game because we treat each game like a final, so we are not going to relax,” he concluded. Today’s Division Two games: Sagicor vs General Accident Insurance Stewart’s Auto Parts vs Kris ‘n Charles RJRGLEANER vs Bank of Jamaica Digicel Jamaica vs Jamaica Customs
