He pleaded guilty, and told the court that he was sorry for his actions.

However, his fate, as it would turn out, was in the hands of his father, who spent two nights in hospital because the incident.

The court heard that he was stabbed twice in his back.

“Your Honour, I am begging for it to end because of my church. My pastor and members of the church asked me to drop it,” the father said.

YOU COULD HAVE DIED

Parish Judge Vaughn Smith, however, said: “Neither the pastor or other members of the church went through what you went through. Don’t let them make up your mind for you. If the matter is discontinued, it can’t be brought back again before the court. You could have died.”

When the judge asked why he wounded his father, the accused said: “I am sorry for what I have done. I am trying to be a better person in society.” The court heard that on the day in question a relative took up some keys belonging to the accused, and when he went to get the keys, an argument developed between the accused man and his younger brother. “My little brother tek it up on his head and draw for a knife, and during the tussle with my little brother, him (father) get cut.” The judge responded, saying: “I won’t send him to prison today. I am going to give him a suspended sentence which will prevent him from doing it again.” Wizard was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months. He was told to give his fingerprints to the police.
