Open-casket viewing for rapper XXXTentacion

-

Apublic memorial and viewing for Jaseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, more popularly known as ‘XXXTentacion’, will be held today in Miami, Florida.

The announcement was made earlier this week via his mother’s Instagram page. The post gave details for the service that is set to take place at Florida Panther’s Stadium from midday to 6 p.m. His family encouraged fans to come and pay their finals respects to Onfroy, who was of Jamaican descent as both parents are Jamaicans.

Due to the nature of the event (open-casket viewing), fans are warned that cell phones and cameras are not permitted. If fans do not respect the family’s wishes for privacy and violate the rules by bringing in electronic devises, they will be escorted off the premises and denied re-entry.

It’s unclear when the official thanksgiving service for Onfroy will take place, or whether it will be open to the public.

According to international media reports, XXXTentacion was leaving a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida, on June 18 when he was shot by two assailants in a dark-coloured SUV in an apparent robbery. The Broward County Fire Department rushed him to Broward Health North. He was initially reported to be in critical condition following the shooting, but was later confirmed dead by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. He was 20 years old.

At least one suspect has since been remanded for the rapper’s killing. – S.G.
