God healed his damaged heart

- GEORGE HENRY STAR Writer

The Bible tells us that the Lord will never leave us nor forsake us, especially in our times of need.

Owen Battiest, who worships at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Portmore, St Catherine, has identified with this statement.

Battiest, who has been walking with the Lord for over 16 years, testified that in 2015, he experienced a serious heart attack and had to be hospitalised for a while.

“I was told by the doctor that I had to do a heart bypass, and was sent out to acquire finances to have it done. The doctor told me that it was a massive heart attack, and so I must do the bypass because it seemed as if I had a blockage somewhere,” testified Battiest.

He went to the Heart Foundation of Jamaica to have a test done to determine where the blockage was located.

But the result showed no sign of any blockage.

“But before that, I remember when I was sent home and was experiencing an excruciating pain in the left side of my chest. It was as if I was having another heart attack,” shared Battiest. He, however, managed to fall asleep and had a vision during which he heard a voice asking, “Why are you worrying yourself? Don’t you see what I did for Daniel?” He said the voice told him that he should not worry himself because God had already taken care of things. He added that on his return thereafter to the Heart Foundation, no obstruction was discovered. Battiest said he had a review of his condition done at the University Hospital of the West Indies. Doctors looked at his records along with the findings of the Heart Foundation of Jamaica. Their review did not pinpoint anything. “They did not see where I had any sign of heart attack. The female doctor was so astonished that she had to send for the doctor who admitted me first. They had a discussion to determine whether or not the diagnosis was correct. She responded by saying that it was a proper diagnosis,” said the churchman.

Battiest said the night when he went in to the hospital he had to be screened off, because the doctors thought he was going to have another heart attack.

“The doctor said I had one but there was nothing to show that it really occurred. I knew that God was able, because at that point I realised that the vision that I had was really God revealing to me that He had already replaced my heart. So I know that God is real,” said Battiest.

He said if God was not real, he would not be around today to tell others about His favour towards him.
