It was a packed house at Infront Di Bar on Seaview Road, Stony Hill, yesterday as Brazil fans who came out in numbers to watch the quarter-finals witnessed their team being ‘ushered out’ of the 2018 World Cup.

Patrick the sole Belgium ‘day one supporter, already a tall figure, stood taller after 15 minutes as his team went up 1-0.

“Unuh know bout football?” Patrick ran in and out of the bar asking the Brazil supporters to defeating silence.

Mali, a graphic artiste and videographer from the community, said: “No bada watch that my side. One goal a goal?”

Restaurateur Rotty of Rotty and Cherry Restaurant entered the bar and jeered the Brazil supporters.

Whitey, who earlier was ready to put his $200,000 on the line for Brazil, gave a timid response. He said: “We nuh talk to duppy man.” That was his only utterance for the rest of the match as by half-time neither he nor his money were anywhere to be seen.

While enjoying beverages, the bar was entertained by Belgium faithful, Patrick.

Jokingly, he told THE STAR that there was a reason he didn’t bet Whitey.

“Mi neva want tek weh him money, that’s why mi go Justbet!” he laughed.

After Belgium’s second goal, Patrick said: “Unuh fi know football; no South American side can’t win World Cup.”

Penny, another disappointed Brazil fan said, “How we fi mek noise when we a lose?”

Dave, an England supporter said: “Usher dem out. I knew the game would finish 21 and Brazil would score late.”

As desperation kicked in, the Brazil fans started cursing Neymar, “Leggo di ball,” shouted Penny.

They, however, started breathing again after the 75th minute when Brazil pulled one back.

“It nuh over. Calm down my side. Bet mash up,” Rushane jeered Patrick.

Claude, a Germany supporter yelled, “Can’t hear the Belgium man dem.”

“The man who is not a Belgium man a him a do all the talking,” Sham, a Brazil supporter responded sharply.

But as time ticked by and no equaliser, Brazil fans realised they were about to lose.

“Dem get the match fi win and gi it weh,” Penny said at the 85th minute.

At the final whistle, the Brazil supporters hung their heads and it was the Belgium faithful, Patrick, who was triumphant.

Outside of the bar was total quietness within the surrounding areas, as Brazil supporters were seemingly devastated.
