Ronaldo, go to Juve! – Evra
Patrice Evra has advised Cristiano Ronaldo to quit Real Madrid for Italian giants Juventus.
There are multiple reports from Spain, Portugal, and Italy that a deal is done for €100m, for the 33year-old, five-time Ballon d’Or winner to move to Turin.
Several reputable reporters and news outlets have stated that the move is likely to be announced tomorrow after a hastily convened Real Madrid directors meeting, after the Portuguese star and his agent Jorge Mendes reportedly told the Spanish giants of their desire to leave.
“There is no other team he (Ronaldo) must join. It’s a sacrifice, because they work HARD,” said former Juve and Manchester United full-back Evra during a live Instagram video.
“Everyone asks me, Pat, what do you think? I haven’t spoken to Cristiano about this, but my advice is, if he wants to play to 2050, he has to go to Juve. There is no other team he must join. It’s simple,” Evra added.
“I thank Juve, because if after Manchester I continued to win and to run, it was thanks to Juve. You should never spit on the plate that fed you, so Juve will always be in my heart,” said Evra before singing the Juve club anthem in full voice.
“So Cristiano, I tell you this: Make the right choice. You know how much the Italians love you, but it’s a sacrifice. If you go to Juve, it’s to work and to work HARD. This lot, ha, don’t know what a vacation is. But that’s the choice. Either you want to continue playing to 2050 or just carry on for a bit. I can tell you this. If you go to Juve, you’ll be at the next World Cup not as a mascot, but as a protagonist. A PROTAGONIST.”
According to reports, Juventus and Ronaldo quietly agreed to a €30 million a year wage package earlier this year. Ronaldo, who has a €1.1 billion release clause in his contract, apparently has a clause which allows him to move to certain clubs for just €100 million, a fee Juve are more than ready to pay.
